How to choose an integrated system (ATS+PCS+MPPT) or an all in one outdoor cabinet energy storage system?

The integrated model deeply integrates the three core functional units, MPPT, PCS, and ATS, at the control and circuit levels. Its core advantages lie in efficiency, convenience, intelligence, and cost-effectiveness (in terms of initial total investment). However, it suffers from poor flexibility, limited scalability, the risk of a "single point of failure" (a serious failure within the integrated controller could paralyze the entire system), and complex and costly maintenance.

An all in one outdoor cabinet energy storage system is a complete physical entity that includes the battery pack, temperature control system, fire protection system, power distribution unit, structural cabinet, and core electrical architecture (possibly an integrated model). Its advantages lie in high flexibility, scalability, high redundancy, and ease of maintenance.

The ATS+PCS+MPPT integrated model inherently has poor shock resistance and is generally more common in China, where power is virtually uninterrupted. If used overseas, the system can operate relatively stably if the customer only uses it off-grid. However, if connected to the grid and subject to frequent power outages, current fluctuations can cause the PCS to become unstable, prone to damage, and result in numerous after-sales issues and increased maintenance difficulties. If the system is intended for off-grid use only, an ATS is not recommended (it only assists the PCS in switching from on-grid to off-grid, with a millisecond response time) due to its high cost. If you choose an ATS, an external hybrid inverter is a better option!
